Professor Pat Dudgeon is from the Bardi people of the Kimberly area in Western Australia. She is a Research Fellow at the School of Indigenous Studies at the University of Western Australia (UWA) in Perth, Western Australia. She is currently the director of the UWA Centre of Best Practice in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Suicide Prevention (CBPATSISP) and is part of several research grants. Her areas of research include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander social and emotional wellbeing and suicide prevention.

Professor Dudgeon?s other positions included co-chair of the Indigenous Psychology Board Advisory Committee to the Australian Psychological Society and a Board Member of Marr Mooditj Aboriginal Health Training, Western Australia since 2010. She was the inaugural Chair, Steering Committee and Founding Member of Australian Indigenous Psychologists Association (AIPA) and remains a member.
